This beautiful coloured plate of the Privet Hawk moth (Sphinx ligustri) originates from the first edition of the work by Edward Hulme called 'Butterflies and Moths of the Countryside', published in 1903.

 

This 121-year-old print is in excellent condition and has 4 illustrations of the Privet Hawk moth, larva and pupa, as well as its favourite food plant, Wild Privet (Ligustrum vulgare).

 

The pre-cut high quality matboard has clay-brown coloured top layer, and is acid-free, protecting the print.
